25 May–7 June U17 Boys’ UEFA European Championship, Tallinn / Rakvere
Before the FIFA World Cup, it is worth remembering where it all begins: with youthful enthusiasm for the sport, and the desire to succeed. Estonia, Spain, France, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Montenegro, and Croatia will compete for the European title at stadiums in Tallinn and Rakvere. Estonia’s group stage matches at A. Le Coq Arena: 25 May Spain, 28 May Croatia, and 31 May Belgium.
27 May Tori Amos and Laibach concerts, Tallinn
Two very different musical evenings connected only by the history of their concert venues: the Sakala building, which stood on the site of the Solaris Centre hosting Alexela Concert Hall until 2007, served as a cultural centre after Estonia regained independence, just as the Salme Cultural Centre in Kalamaja still does today.
29 May Brasileiro and National Butterflies, Viljandi
The café terrace at the Viljandi Traditional Music Centre opens for the summer to the sound of Brazilian rhythms, offering a wonderfully green view towards the castle hills. The centre is also hosting a digital art exhibition by Rao Heidmets featuring imaginary butterflies whose wings are decorated with colourful embroidery patterns from Estonian national costumes and counties. The exhibition is open until 10 July, Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00.
29–30 May Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend, Tallinn
Small breweries from Estonia and around the world will once again present their big flavours to beer lovers for the tenth time. Each of the 47 producers will offer wristband holders samples of four beers each evening, ranging from 2.5% all the way up to a 21% Chocolate Imperial Pastry Stout. There have even been some experimental 0.5% hopped tea batches among them.
30 May Kamari Soup Festival, Põltsamaa
As part of the Estonian Food Region 2026 event series, the Soup Festival will be held for the fifth time in the courtyard of the Kamari village community house in Põltsamaa. Soups prepared by home and professional cooks will compete for the title of best soup, and after the afternoon tasting the public can vote for their favourite. There will be bouncy castles and activities for children, while adults can enjoy musical performances and a cocktail bar into the evening.
30 May Alutaguse Cross-Country Bike Marathon, Pannjärve
The marathon venue is the Alutaguse Holiday and Sports Centre in Pannjärve. The full 47 km route and the 22 km half marathon follow ski marathon trails through the lakeside landscape protection area, but also across peat fields and for more than a third of the route through either active or naturally restored quarries. The programme also includes children’s mini races.
30 May Garfish Festival, Orjaku village, Hiiumaa
The festival day dedicated to the green-boned garfish beloved by islanders is celebrated in May, when southwesterly winds are favourable for fishermen, hence the fish’s Estonian name “tuulihaug”. Orjaku harbour is filled with tastings, workshops and sales of fish delicacies. The joint departure of the fishing competition boats from the harbour is a magnificent sight. Children have their own shore fishing competition, and in the evening there will be dances both in Orjaku and Kärdla.
30 May Swedish House Mafia concert, Tallinn
Described by Billboard magazine as “one of the biggest electronic music acts of all time”, the world’s best-selling dance music group will perform at the Song Festival Grounds. Four warm-up acts begin at 17:00, with music sets also taking place in the indoor cocktail bar area of the venue.
30–31 May Miniature Exhibition “Minimaailm”, Tallinn
At the largest event of its kind in the Baltic countries, visitors can explore model railways complete with landscapes and trains, aeroplanes, cars, ships, tanks and other military technology, space rockets, animal and human figures, and much more in the athletics hall. All the main Estonian hobby shops will be represented. Admission is five euros for adults, free for under-18s.
30–31 May Street Festival and Courtyard Flea Market, Kuressaare
On Saturday, Kuressaare town centre will feature handicrafts, design, dance and music, restaurant and street food offerings, a dog show, a children’s area and hobby horse competitions, with more information available on the festival’s Facebook page. On Sunday, local residents will open their courtyards and garages as flea market venues. See the map in the link above.
