All Saints Day Candlelit Walks

Not everyone enjoys Halloween, and not everyone is spiritual by nature. What we do all have in common, however, is enjoying a candlelit walk in a forest among the autumn leaves. This is exactly what will happen this Sunday, 2 November in observation of All Saints Day in the cemetery park of Tallinn’s Kalamaja region, which is only a brief walk from the Old Town.
Candles will be lit around sunset, which is approximately at 16:30. All the paths will be illuminated by candles, bonfire barrels will be sporadically placed throughout the park, and the famous bell tower in the park will also be lit up. The candlelit walk will last until sometime later in the night, presumably 21:00. Entry to the park is free, and is organised by Matkafy Laternamatkad, or Lantern Hikes.
Matkafy also offers several other lantern-lit hikes and walks around Tallinn. The complete list in English of upcoming guided tours is available here. Walks are of varying distances and times, but are typically 5–7 kilometers, and last for two and a half hours. There are walks in different sections of Tallinn, with themes of crime, the 90s, the Soviet era, and even this year’s Halloween special tour tonight, Friday, 31 Halloween.
