On Saturday, 31 May, the popular Great Painting Saturday will be held again. This time, the event is connected to the ongoing exhibition “Bernardo Strozzi. Beyond Caravaggio” at the Kadriorg Art Museum. The Great Painting Saturday will be held in the Kadriorg Palace Park from 12:00 to 17:00.
Plein air painting offers an opportunity to observe nature and architecture. It develops attention and an aesthetic eye. The Kadriorg Palace Park offers many interesting details that are inspiring to paint.
In addition to plein air painting and the guided tours of the Bernardo Strozzi exhibition, an oil painting workshop led by Eero Alev in the Grand Hall of Kadriorg Palace will be held during the day. Participants can draw inspiration from the works of the old masters, and approach historical art through practical techniques and creative self-expression.
Plein air painting is free of charge for everyone, and painting equipment is available on site. Anyone interested in art and nature is welcome to participate in the painting Saturdays. No previous painting experience is required.
The Great Painting Saturday is an annual art festival that has been held in the park of the Kadriorg Art Museum on the last Saturday of May since 2003.
