Corelli Music Celebrates Bach With a Baroque Concert

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the “Church Holidays in Estonia” concert series during Easter, as well as the 340th birthday of the greatest composer of the Baroque era, J.S. Bach. In honor of this jubilee, Corelli Music presents the composer’s church cantatas, which reflect the message of the jubilee.

The concert will be held on Sunday, 20 April at the Tallinn Methodist Church, and on Tuesday, 22 April at Tartu’s St. John’s Church. Soprano Marta Paklar and bassist Janari Jorro sing as soloists. The Corelli Baroque Orchestra is conducted by Martin Sildos.

The programme of the mass includes the cantata “Ach Gott, wie manches Herzeleid” (BWV 58), the aria orchestral “Suite no. 3 in D major” (BWV 1068), and the cantata “Selig ist der Mann” (BWV 57).

The “Church Holidays in Estonia” series, which started in 2006, has become a fixture in Estonia’s spring concert event calendar. The concert audience has the opportunity to enjoy classical music in a beautiful and historic setting. The concert lasts about an hour, and there is no intermission. Tickets to the concert can be found here.
