28.06–15.09 Taagepera Castles Magic Park “Alice in Wonderland”, Taagepera

This summer, the park at Taagepera Castle has been transformed into a unique theme park inspired by the famous fairytale “Alice in Wonderland“. Visitors can explore a magical world filled with thousands of flowers, a colourful enchanted forest, themed sculptures, and giant installations. The park offers surprises and discoveries for both children and adults alike.

 

18.08–18.09 Tallinn Fringe Festival, Tallinn

The Tallinn Fringe Festival, which started in 2016, is a vibrant arts event showcasing circus, theatre, dance, music, and fire performances. Now in its eighth year, the festival presents a mix of international and local acts across various venues in Tallinn.

 

02–11.09 Nargenfestival, Across Estonia

The Nargenfestival is a cultural event that presents high-quality classical and contemporary music concerts in Tallinn and other parts of Estonia. The festival’s lineup includes a diverse range of performers, from promising young talent to world-famous virtuosos. The festival is named after Naissaar, an island near Tallinn, which is also known by its German name, ‘Nargen’.

 

02–11.09 Arvo Pärt Days, Across Estonia

Arvo Pärt Days is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the music and legacy of the renowned Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. Held as part of the Nargenfestival, this series of concerts and performances takes place throughout Estonia, particularly during September, Pärt’s birth month. The event showcases his distinctive compositions and provides an opportunity for audiences to experience his work in various settings, from intimate venues to grand concert halls. The programme includes performances by leading musicians and ensembles, offering a profound exploration of Pärt’s unique sound world.

 

05–09.09 Station Narva, Narva

Station Narva, now in its fifth year, is a music and city festival held in Narva. This year, the festival centres around the historic Kreenholm Quarter, transforming venues like the Narva Art Residency (NART) and the Kreenholm management building into lively festival hubs. The event features a lineup of international and Estonian artists, alongside local performers from Ida-Viru County. Visitors can enjoy free daytime concerts, art exhibitions, guided tours, and various community activities.

 

06–08.09 Tallinn Marathon, Tallinn

The Swedbank Tallinn Marathon is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The marathon, a World Athletics Elite label race, is recognised as one of the top 50 marathons globally. The event features a classic 42.2 km marathon, a 21.1 km half marathon, and a new Relay Marathon. The scenic route winds through Tallinn’s historic streets, offering runners a unique experience of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town and other iconic landmarks. Organisers are aiming to break participation records in this special anniversary year.

 

06–08.09 FOTO Tallinn, Kai Art Centre, Tallinn

Foto Tallinn 2024 is an international photography fair that brings together cutting-edge works from 35 artists from across the globe, including Estonia, Tunisia, India, and the USA. The event features a diverse range of contemporary photographic art, showcasing the latest trends and techniques in the medium. Highlights include a special exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian photography and a focus on both innovative and documentary styles.

 

06–16.09 Saaremaa Food Festival, Saaremaa

The Saaremaa Food Festival is a celebration of local cuisine and community in Saaremaa, Estonia. The festival offers unique culinary experiences, from home-cooked gourmet dishes to special events like the “Pig in a Poke” dinner and Restaurant Week. The festival highlights the importance of locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking while embracing innovative food trends.

 

07.09 Türi Apple Festival, Türi

The Türi Apple Festival and Autumn Fair is a celebration of the Autumn season. The event features an apple preserve and apple dessert competition, alongside a diverse cultural and sports programme. Visitors can enjoy performances by the lively Gerli Padar Duo and activities organised by local institutions including Türi Library, Türi Youth Center, and Türi Sports Clubs. Entry to the event is free.

 

07.09 Kuressaare Street Picnic, Kuressaare

The Kuressaare City Picnic transforms the city centre into a picturesque dining experience. A kilometre-long row of picnic tables will be set up along Lossi, Tallinna, and Raekoja Streets. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own delicious food and drinks to share with friends and fellow picnickers.
