Tartuff film festival starts tomorrow

The popular PÖFF love film festival Tartuff will take place this year between August 1 and 6. In total, 18 films will be screened during the festival, 10 of which will be shown at the open-air cinema on Tartu’s Raekoja Plats (Town Hall Square), which are all free of charge for moviegoers. In addition to the film program, there will be a number of different events, from concerts to bike tours of street art, taking place during the week.

The largest open-air film festival in the Baltics will take place in Tartu between August 1 and 6. This year marks the 17th edition of the popular PÖFF love film festival Tartuff, which is organised Black Nights Film Festival in cooperation with the Tartu Film Foundation and the Tartu Creative Economy Center.

This year’s opening film at the large open-air cinema in Tartu’s Town Hall Square on August 1 will be Sander Joon’s awarding-winning animation “Sierra”. In total, ten films will be screened at open-air cinema during the festival. In addition, documentaries and family films will also be shown at Tartu’s Elektriteater.

Along with the film program, there will also be bike tours of Tartu’s street art, concerts, dance performances, aerial acrobatics performances, public recordings of radio shows and podcasts, discussions and conversations, comedy performances, and much more.
