Arguably Estonia’s most popular traveling culinary event, the Toidutänavad, or Food Street, series is coming to Lasnamäe, in the eastern part of Tallinn. The event will take place on 26 April at the Lasnamäe Centrum at Mustakivi tee 13, starting at noon. The Great Lasnamäe Food Street is a family-friendly event.
Visitors can expect food trucks as well as mobile kitchens from Estonia and neighbouring countries. The aroma of grills will certainly fill the air. The food street isn’t just about food though: there will be live DJ sets throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere, and there will also be a large Sky Tivoli amusement park, as well as a children’s area.
Entrance is free, but the food obviously is not. The complete programme is available in Estonian here.
Launched in 2020, the Toidutänavad series of events has quickly gained in popularity across the country. If you’re unable to attend this event but you’d like to attend a different one, or if you enjoy it so much you want to repeat the experience, there will be several other events by the same organiser this year.
Similar events will take place in Saku, Keila, Rapla, Jõhvi, Põltsamaa, Pärnu, Rakvere, Tartu, Paide, Haapsalu, Viljandi, Võru, Elva, and another Lasnamäe edition in September. The flagship event of this series will take place at the Song Festival Grounds on 22–24 May in Tallinn.
