The fifth annual Austerium Oyster Fest is happening on 9 May in the courtyard of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. A celebration of seafood in general, and specifically oysters, this event will be hosted by Anti Lepik, the six-time World Oyster Opening Champion, who is also a renowned oyster sommelier.
The full day of “flavour, fun, and the fresh sea breeze in the heart of Tallinn” will start at noon and last until 20:00. Visitors will be thrilled with the broad selection of oysters and seafood from local sources, and abroad. There will be a good choice of sparkling wines, gin cocktails, and those who dare can participate in the Estonian Oyster Opening Championship. International judges will be from France, the UK, Estonia, and of course Finland.
Families are encouraged to attend Oyster Fest, as there will be fun, oyster-themed games for children. Live DJ music can be enjoyed by all, and there will be several pop-up bars and “food corners” offering a wide variety of food, also not limited to seafood and oysters. Participating vendors include Austerium Oyster & Grill, Kaviale Caviar Bar, Austerium Bubbles Lounge, Jahu Street Pizza, Toidunaut Seafood Paella, Norwegian Seafood Bar, Junimperium Gin Bar, Bestwine Champagne Bar, and more.
Entrance is free, and the complete programme can be viewed here.
