Peipsi Food Street 2026

The ninth annual Peipsi Food Street will take place on 15–16 August along the coast of Lake Peipus in eastern Estonia, stretching from Setomaa in the south, to Vasknarva in the north. 37 pop-up restaurants will serve visitors everything the region has to offer from the lake, fields, forests, bogs, and most importantly: kitchens. This event takes place primarily along Estonia’s famed Onion Route, or Sibulatee in Estonian.

Pop-up restaurants aren’t the only things in this year’s programme, however. In addition to great food, there will be various cultural programmes, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops. Visitors will also have the chance to talk to local producers, and purchase locally produced goods, all of which are authentic, and from the overall Lake Peipus region.

And this leads us to discuss the name itself: Peipsi järv in Estonian becomes Lake Peipus in English. There’s also the soft drink analogy, which states that while Finland has Kokkola and Vantaa, Estonia only has Peipsi.

The map itself will take you along a route that is approximately 175 km in length, which is a perfect opportunity for a wonderful weekend. There are loads of places to stay the night, whether you prefer bed-and-breakfasts, caravan parks, campsites, hotels, or even visiting friends if you’re lucky enough to have any in that area.
