Romeo and Juliet by the Flamenco Ballet of Catalonia

The tale of two star-crossed lovers is as eternal to everyone as dance. The Flamenco Ballet of Catalonia combines their art of dance with William Shakespeare’s classical story to create an interpretation on the stage that you will not forget. Just imagine seeing this story played out in the form of flamenco, contemporary dance, and jazz!
For only two nights, this performance will be in Estonia. The first is 24 January in Tallinn’s Alexela Concert Hall, and the second is 25 January in Tartu’s Vanemuise Concert Hall. The performance is two hours and ten minutes, with an intermission. Tickets are available here.
Using dance and music, the artists on stage will explore themes we all know only too well, such as love and hate, family feuds, and self-discovery—namely who we really are. Are we a product of our families, or can we choose whom to be? Spectators will also be enchanted by the sheer power, and frailty, of first love.
What makes this production by the Flamenco Ballet of Catalonia unique is the fusion of flamenco, itself a timeless form of dance, with modern dance aesthetics. This means that flamenco, jazz, and theatricality will form one single performance. The duality of the subject of “Romeo and Juliet” will be further explored by the gorgeous set designs and wardrobes.
Even if you know this story backwards and forwards, you haven’t seen it like this before!
