29 November 2025–7 January 2026 Gingerbread Mania, Tallinn
You can still soak up the scent of gingerbread, and admire just how much artistic expression can be conjured from gingerbread dough. Love is the theme of this year’s gingerbread exhibition.
16 December 2025–6 January 2026 PROTO Magic Forest, Tallinn
For two more days, Christmas trees float magically in the Invention Factory. The inventions shaped from gingerbread and the Christmas carousel are also real, not virtual creations.
1–6 January BachFest Tallinn, Tallinn
On the final two evenings of the J.S. Bach concert series, audiences can enjoy performances by the German organist Bernhard Haas and/or the delicate-sounding court bagpipe (musette de cour) virtuoso François Lazarevich, accompanied by a string quintet.
5 January–30 May Raija Merilä: Figurative Paintings, Jäneda
An art exhibition by a Finnish artist who moved to Estonia ten years ago is on display at Jäneda Manor House and its library, open Monday to Thursday from 10.00 to 18.00. Around 50 paintings of various sizes are on view.
7 January Finland–US Comedy Show, Tallinn
Miska Kajanus, who has knocked on the doors of Hollywood and toured the United States with Ismo, performs in English with his show “My Immigrant Story”. Joining him on stage to entertain the audience is Finnish–American singer and comedian Maria Voltaine.
9–11 January Nordic Combined World Cup event, Otepää
The world’s leading men and women in ski jumping and cross-country skiing will gather in southern Estonia for three days to compete for individual World Cup points.
10 January David Bowie musical tribute, Tallinn
Ten years have passed since the death of the pop music genius and the release of his album “Blackstar”. At the Paavli Cultural Factory, the master is remembered by watching the film “The Man Who Fell to Earth” and enjoying the music of Estonia’s own Bowie tribute band, Spiders from Bars.
10 January Christmas tree bonfire and drum show, Tartu
For the fifth year in a row, Christmas trees collected from the Tartu area will be burned in a large fire show, this time accompanied by a drum performance. A pop-up café will sell hot drinks.
11 January Day trip to the Wagenküll Wonderland, Taagepera
A charter bus will take travellers from Tallinn across Estonia to visit Taagepera Castle, the spa, and the winter light and theme park. Departure in the morning, lunch at the castle restaurant, return in the evening.
11 January Speed chess tournament honouring Paul Keres, Narva-Jõesuu
Estonian chess grandmaster Paul Keres would have turned 109 this week. A speed chess tournament in his memory will be held at the conference centre of the Noorus Spa Hotel, with the city mayor also taking part.
