PROTO Magic Forest Decks the Halls with Holiday Cheer

Tallinn’s famed PROTO Invention Factory is celebrating the holidays in the only way they can: by inventing a new kind of magical forest. Imagine snow-covered and holiday-decorated trees floating in the air at different heights throughout the main exhibition hall! Every step lets you discover something new that is Christmas-related, from workshops where you can make your own decorations from recycled materials, to the fairytale gingerbread house.

The trees suspended in the air are largely the work of Eero Ehala and visual technology students from the Viljandi Culture Academy, which “combine the joy of invention, recycling, and Christmas magic.” There will also be a tree dedicated to this year’s “Year of the Estonian Book”, marking the 500th anniversary of the first Estonian book being published.

During the Magic Forest exhibition, PROTO’s normal exhibits and activities will still be available. If you don’t already know, PROTO is a fun-filled and educational adventure centre for the whole family. Many of the exhibits use virtual reality headsets for experiences that are quite unique in the Baltics. Other exhibits focus on science, magic, and of course pure fun for everyone!

PROTO is also holding their Christmas Kiosk on all weekends in December. Everyone can enjoy minipancakes, waffles, hot cocoa, gingerbread, and more. Santa Claus himself also makes appearances!

More information about the PROTO Invention Factory is available on their homepage, and entry to the Magic Forest is included with a general admission ticket.
