The Orb to Perform at Station Narva

Narva’s historic Hermann Castle will come alive again at the beginning of September when the music and city festival Station Narva fills the city with music and cultural events.

One of the performers at the festival will be ambient house pioneer The Orb, who will take the stage on Friday, 5 September. Their set will include tracks from last year’s album “Orboretum” as well as from their upcoming album “Buddhist Hipsters”, due for release in October.

The band was founded in the late 1980s by school friends Alex Paterson (Killing Joke) and Jimmy Cauty (The KLF). Their unique style combines British humour, anarchist punk, and pre-internet era futuristic dreams, resulting in an entirely new music genre: ambient house. The Orb is known for their impressive live shows and music videos, and they have been called the “Pink Floyd of the 1990s.”

Lu:k

The Station Narva lineup also includes Lu:k, a pioneer of Estonian jungle music, whose long-awaited compilation album was released this year by the label Memme Vaev.

Previously announced performers include:

  • Tim Reaper, a leading figure of London’s new jungle wave;
  • Finnish pop star OLGA;
  • Danish indie band Efterklang;
  • Latvian multi-talent German Superfin;
  • Estonian acts such as Tommy Cash, nublu, Duo Ruut, Vaiko Eplik ja Eliit, Estonian Voices, Naissoo Freeform Quintet, and INGA.

Station Narva’s music programme takes place on Friday and Saturday, with concerts held at the historic Hermann Castle grounds of the Narva Museum. Each night concludes with official afterparties at the riverside cultural club Ro-Ro.

The festival opens on Thursday, 4 September, with a free concert featuring the vocal sextet Estonian Voices.

In addition to music, Station Narva offers a wide art and cultural programme, including immersive tours, site-specific performances, community discussions, and a “youth laboratory” aimed at younger audiences.

Festival passes are on sale at the TMW online store and Piletilevi.

  • Prices start at €55 (until 10 August)
  • Discounted youth and senior passes, as well as day tickets (€35 until 11 August), are also available
  • The more comprehensive Station Narva PLUS pass (€100) includes music as well as experiences, food tastings, and special programming.

More information is available on the festival’s official website.
