Night Bazaar in Narva-Jõesuu

The sleepy seaside resort village of Narva-Jõesuu will transform into a magical nighttime market and festival area on 1 August from 18:00 until midnight. Visitors and residents can enjoy shopping, food, music, and the overall atmosphere of a great summer evening by the Baltic Sea.

The ÖÖBazaar, as it’s known in Estonian, is one of the highlights of this town, which is situated at the northeasternmost corner of Estonia only a 20-minute drive from Narva along the river. It will have the traditional atmosphere of a market, but with entertainment and an overall festival-like feel. There will be a wide selection of vendors offering their wares, ranging from handicrafts and lucky finds, to local products and food. The organisers themselves have described the event as a combination of a craft and food festival.

The market area will be adorned with lights, music, and outdoor entertainment. Visitors can browse the area while enjoying the fresh sea air, tasting everything the region has to offer. The organisers are expecting well over a hundred vendors, and as many as 10,000 guests.

There will be some surprise events throughout the programme, which takes place in the evening and in the dark of night, as opposed to a traditional market fair during the day. Everything will culminate with a fireworks display five minutes before midnight.

Narva-Jõesuu is historically one of Estonia’s oldest seaside resorts, and has a long sandy beach lined with pine forests. There are many options for visitors to spend the night in the area, as well.

More information is available here, and entrance is free for all.
