Ewert Sundja Interprets Sinatra Classics at Viimsi Artium

Accompanied by sunny spring days, Viimsi Artium, Viimsi’s cultural and educational centre, is hosting a fresh and exciting concert, “Ewert Sings Sinatra”. Musician Ewert Sundja will take to the stage with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians Kristjan Randalu, Peedu Kass, and Petteri Hasa to perform Frank Sinatra‘s most beloved classics. The concert will be held on Friday, 11 April at 19:00.

The concert will feature a comprehensive selection of Sinatra’s most famous songs, including “It Was A Very Good Year”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, and “New York, New York”. The programme combines the atmosphere of the golden age of swing with a Nordic sensibility.

Bassist Peedu Kass is a respected name in the Estonian and European jazz scenes, and his playing has been heard on over 20 albums. Pianist Kristjan Randalu is known for his modern expression, which brings an interesting tone to his interpretations of old swing classics. Drummer Petteri Hasa brings Finnish flavour to the lineup, whose love for traditional jazz style is transmitted directly to the audience.

“Although the musicians in this band didn’t grow up on the Mississippi River or in Harlem, we approach traditional songs in our own way, bringing out the nuance that suits the character and mood of the people who live here,” comments Peedu Kass. The concert will also feature a guest soloist, Jason Hunter from America on the trumpet.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the Piletikeskus ticket office.
