This year, Brendan Embser, the oldest editor of the Aperture publishing house, which has been operating in New York since 1952, has been elected to the Foto Tallinn jury this year, Giuseppe Olivero, the founder and artistic director of Bologna’s PhMuseum and the international photography festival PhMuseum Days, and Karin Laansoo, director of the Estonian Center for Contemporary Art Development, program manager of the Kai Art Center and art researcher, make up the jury.

According to the jury, the works selected this time passed a very strict competition and were of extremely high quality. “The ingenuity of the figurative language and the latest trends in the photography industry can be seen in the works of the participants,” commented Brendan Embser on the selected works. “Compared to the past, we can see a stronger focus on documentary photography, which is also completely in line with current global events,” adds Karin Laansoo.

The fair also has a special exhibition that presents contemporary Ukrainian photography. Read more about the photography fair on the organizer’s website.
