Tartu City Day will be celebrated this Saturday (June 29) with a series of lively events across the city offering something for everyone. From interesting exhibitions to interactive tours and live performances, the programme promises a day full of enriching experiences.

The day kicks off with a literary quiz at Tartu City Library, where participants can test their knowledge about Tartu and literature. Throughout the day, the Estonian National Museum (ERM) will host a fascinating game “Forgotten Manors,” while Tartu University Art Museum invites guests to explore the exhibition “In the Shadow of War: Art Created in Geislingen 1944 – Tartu 2024,” commemorating the 80th anniversary of the significant historical exodus.

For families, the Children’s Party with Limpa will entertain young visitors on Küüni Street, complemented by interactive tours such as the “Walk Through Estonian Sports History” at the Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum.

Later in the afternoon, the city will comes alive with performances by the Koidula and Jannsen memorial, celebrating Estonia’s cultural richness. The day culminates with a grand gala concert “Cultural Capital through the Centuries” on Town Hall Square, featuring performances by renowned artists like Karmen Puis, NOËP, and more, accompanied by Pärnu City Orchestra.

As night falls, DJ NOËP takes over for a lively afterparty, ensuring Tartu City Day concludes with rhythm and energy. Additionally, Tartu Elektriteater will present a special screening of “Tartu Curse” for those looking to delve deeper into the city’s cinematic history.
