A concert for movie lovers

 

The beginning of 2024 will get off to a bang with five film gala concerts taking place around the country, the first of which is tonight, January 12. The Vanamuine Symphony Orchestra will be joined by well-known singers and soloists for a repertoire of iconic songs from film and theatre, including classic pieces such as “Tomorrow Never Dies” from James Bond and Hans Zimmer’s title track from Gladiator.

This evening, January 12, will see the first of five Film Gala concerts, which will take place in Tartu, Põlva, Paide, and Viljandi between now and the end of January.

The concerts, which will be performed in two halves, will see the Vanamuine Symphony Orchestra joined by well-known Estonian singers such as Koit Toome and Saara Pius, as well as soloists, including Anna Šulitšenko (oboe).

At the concerts, you can expect to hear iconic songs such as “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman and “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky. There will also be songs from Estonian movies as well as Disney classics.
