Although it’s still October, we can already take a look at next year’s events. During Shrovetide, Tallinn will once again celebrate the beloved Shrovetide bun. Cafés will offer increasingly creative versions of the treat, with fillings that go far beyond just jam and whipped cream.
We all have our favourite—whether it’s with jam or marzipan. This eternal debate never ends, as people argue which one is better. However, in Tallinn, the options are not limited to these two ingredients. You’ll also find Shrovetide doughnuts, croissants, and even gelato!
The Tallinn Shrovetide Bun Festival 2026 will take place next year from 15 January to 17 February, giving you plenty of time to indulge in all the delicious Shrovetide treats! A complete list of participating cafés will be published in December 2025.
