An unlikely duo will give a concert for Estonia’s anniversary

On Sunday, February 23, Paavli Kultuurivabrik will host a special concert to celebrate the 107th anniversary of Estonia.

The concert will feature a collaboration between the cello duo Tšellopoisid, consisting of Kaspar Kluge and Karret Sepp, and Estonian alternative music star Valge Tüdruk. Tšellopoisid mix classical and contemporary music by combining the natural sound of the cello with modern technology and a powerful backing band.

“Since our last public concert was in a church, it seemed the most unexpected choice was to make a complete U-turn and do the song with Valge Tüdruk. Let’s be honest, it’s a very spicy combo where there will be both beauty and horror on stage,” says Kluge. “Of course, I wouldn’t invite my mother to this concert!” he jokes.

Tšellopoisid have previously performed with notable artists like Rein Rannap and Ott Lepland. For this concert, they join forces with Valge Tüdruk, whose music, known for its bold and provocative lyrics, addresses themes of minority rights and critiques of capitalist society. Valge Tüdruk, known for her avant-garde performances, is excited to step outside her comfort zone for this live performance.
