Winter Opera 2025

The Winter Opera 2025 concert series takes place in Tartu’s historic St John’s Church, presented by Music Trust PLMF, the Tartu City Government, and the local Lutheran congregation. The evenings feature renowned opera soloists supported by piano, offering a rich introduction to classical vocal repertoire.

The first performance is on 11 November at 18:00, presenting soprano Kristina Vähi, mezzo Annaliisa Pillak, bass Pavlo Balakin, and pianist Piia Paemurru. The second is on 18 November, again at 18:00, with sopranos Marion Melnik and Laura‑Retti Laos, countertenor Ivo Posti, and pianist Piia Paemurru. The programme includes music by Mozart, Pergolesi, Händel, Lehár, and others.

Tickets are priced at €20 for standard seats, and €12 for concessions, available here, and at the venue. The series is designed to appeal to lovers of opera and classical vocal music alike, set within the historic and atmospheric surroundings of the church.

For anyone seeking an elegant musical evening with high‑calibre voices and a refined setting, Winter Opera 2025 offers a compelling choice. The combination of distinguished artists, well‑curated repertoire, and this unique venue in Tartu makes these performances especially appealing. More information is available here.
