UMA MEKK Spring Gourmet is a food event taking place in Southern Estonia from 2 to 11 May. For ten days, local restaurants and cafés will offer their guests the best on the table. Special three-course menus cost only €29–35.
This year, 13 restaurants will participate in the food event. You can find the list on the Estonian-language UMA MEKK website. The main role is played by raw materials from local producers and, of course, products from forests, lakes, and rivers. Since the event has become popular over the years, it is not worth going on a trip to the restaurants of Southern Estonia without a table reservation.
The restaurants are located in Otepää, Põlva, Võru, Haanja, Rõuge, Vastseliina, and Obinitsa. While enjoying gourmet delicacies, you can also get acquainted with the interesting local culture of Võru and Setomaa.
On the same website, you will find five places to stay where you can get a ten percent discount during UMA MEKK with the discount code “Kevadgurmee”. Remember to mention it when making a reservation.
UMA MEKK has also created a map of the journey of flavours (Maitsete teekond), where you can find interesting places to visit, such as farmhouses, wineries, fish shops, and much more. Check out the map here.
Have a wonderful trip to Southern Estonia!
