29 Mar–6 Jul Bernardo Strozzi. A Master in the Shadow of Caravaggio, Tallinn

A rare solo exhibition of Italian Early Renaissance painter Bernardo Strozzi is now in Tallinn. 40 works by Strozzi, borrowed from European museums and private collections, are hung on the walls of Kadriorg Palace.

 

10–20 Apr Flavours of Otepää food festival, Otepää

This popular food festival takes place twice a year, and participating restaurants offer their customers three-course tasting menus made primarily from local ingredients at affordable prices.

 

11 Apr–29 May A Streetcar Named Desire ballet, Tallinn

The Estonian National Opera’s ballet “A Streetcar Named Desire” will continue to perform until May. The ballet had its world premiere in Scotland in 2012. The story tells of a destructive passion and family drama.

 

15 Apr Pärnu piano festival concerts, Pärnu

This concert series consists of three classical music concerts, where one of the instruments is the magnificent Steinway piano from the Pärnu Concert Hall. This time, Kalev Kuljus (oboe), Theodor Sink (cello), and Sten Heinoja (piano) will play. The programme includes works by Handel, Debussy, Pozza, Poulenc, and Kõrvits, among others.

 

16–22 Apr Squirt Show, Tallinn

Would you dare to watch the show that shook Las Vegas and left the audience speechless? SQUIRT takes the stage with its provocative and bold performance. The show mixes reality and fantasy. A breathtaking realm of the senses awaits the viewer.

 

17–19 Apr Andrew Lloyd Webber. Requiem, Tartu, Tallinn, Pärnu

Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s “Requiem” is celebrating its 40th anniversary on concert stages around the world. Composed in memory of his father, “Requiem” is Webber’s most personal work. The work appeals both to classical and popular music lovers.

 

17 Apr–1 May Jazzkaar music festival, Tallinn

​Jazzkaar is Estonia’s largest annual jazz festival. The event brings together international and local jazz artists alike, and offers an interesting programme this year as well. The festival venue is the Telliskivi Creative Centre.


18 Apr Cinderella ballet, Narva

The Estonian National Opera’s ballet, “Cinderella”, is now being performed in Narva. The dance numbers are directed by choreographer Cristiano Principato. The stage features dancers from four leading international ballet companies and the Estonian National Opera ballet. The ballet is based on Charles Perrault‘s fairy tale, combining Prokofiev‘s magical music with classical and neoclassical choreography.

 

19–20 Apr Võhandu canoe marathon, Võru

The Võhandu River provides a great setting for the international 100-kilometer canoe marathon, which starts in Võru, and ends in Võõpsu. Canoeing teams of 1–2 members can register for the event.


20 Apr Dune race, Leina village

This year, the dune race will be held in the pine forests of Jõulumäe. The route runs through a beautiful pine forest. There will also be activities for children on the day of the event. The dune run is also the first stage of the Two Bridges triathlon series.
