01.11.24–31.12.25 “Invisible City” exhibition, Tartu

This exhibition explores the medieval origins of the city of Tartu, focusing on its beginnings and the daily life of its early inhabitants. The exhibition features models, including the first-ever virtual recreation of 13th-century Tartu, and provides insights into the city’s natural history and urban development. Visitors can also view archaeological finds and an exact replica of the oldest preserved city model from 1686.

 

01–28.02 Tasty Tartu, Tartu

Throughout February, the Tasty Tartu food festival brings fithree-course menus to 22 participating restaurants. The fixed menus highlight local ingredients and are often paired with curated drink selections – vegetarian options are also available. Prices range from 33 to 37 euros.

 

12.02–15.04 Pärnu Piano, Pärnu

The concert series features three classical music performances, demonstrating the renowned Steinway piano from Pärnu Concert Hall. Estonia’s top instrumentalists and chamber musicians will present a varied range of classical and contemporary works, including compositions by Handel, Liszt, Schubert, Prokofiev, Debussy, Sisask, and more.

 

14.02–04.03 Tallinn Bun Fest, Tallinn

Cafes and bakeries in Tallinn will celebrate Estonia’s beloved vastlakukkel tradition. Participating eateries will offer both classic and innovative versions of this seasonal creme-filled pastry.

 

14.02–11.04 Virtual Reality Dinner, Tallinn

The Virtual Reality Dinner offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience where guests enjoy a four-course meal inspired by Estonian flavours while immersed in a VR journey through the country’s landscapes. Groups of 24 to 40 diners can explore forests, bogs, and farmyards, encountering mythical elements like the legendary Kratt.

 

22.02–17.04 Estonian National Opera chamber concerts, Tallinn

The Estonian National Opera Chamber Concerts offer an intimate musical experience, with pieces from both international and Estonian composers. The 119th season includes a programme of Estonian music for Independence Day, romantic French melodies celebrating Fauré, and a spring concert featuring works by Mozart and Schönberg.

 

24.02 Independence parade, Tallinn

The Independence Day parade of the Estonian Defence Forces will take place in Tallinn’s Freedom Square on Monday 24 February at 12 noon. More than 1,000 soldiers and 47 technical vehicles will take part in the parade. In addition to the Estonian Defence Forces, the parade will be attended by NATO allies, their soldiers and equipment.

 

25.02 Akram Khan “Chotto Desh”, Tallinn

One of the world’s most famous dance choreographers, Akram Khan‘s Chotto Desh will be performed in the magnificent Estonian Russian Theatre (Vene Teater) in Tallinn. The work has been hailed worldwide as magical and emotionally intense, bringing together British and Bangladeshi memories and folktales.

 

26.02–01.03 The King’s Singers, Around Estonia

The famous vocal ensemble will sing timeless classics and melodies from Disney films. The repertoire includes music from The Lion King, Mary Poppins and many other animated films.

 

01–02.03 Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture, Narva

Narva is this year’s Finnish-Ugric Capital of Culture. The opening ceremony will take place right at the beginning of March, with a wide range of events in Narva, Estonia’s easternmost city. These include the opening of the exhibition “Sacred Scriptures in the languages of Finno-Ugric peoples” in Narva’s main library, a festive procession from the Inkeritalo to the Town Hall Square, an evening concert and a Vlach and Isurian Midsummer Festival.
