Tallink Star will return to Estonia and begin operations on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route from February 9. Having been chartered in Ireland since May 2023, the ship is now back to enhance services for both freight carriers and passengers travelling with vehicles.
“We are delighted to bring Star to the Estonian-Swedish traffic. Many of our customers remember the ship well from the Helsinki-Tallinn route,” said Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp. He added that Star offers a convenient option for travellers, as the Paldiski-Kapellskär route bypasses the capitals of Estonia and Sweden, reducing travel time for those with vehicles.
Star will replace Regal Star and Sailor on this route, which will be withdrawn from service. The ship will offer more comprehensive services, including a buffet restaurant, shopping facilities, and a children’s play area. Before re-entering service, Star will undergo necessary renovations at the Naantali dry dock.
