The exhibition presents beautiful handbags from the past hundred years.
At the Adamson-Eric Museum in Tallinn’s old town, you can get to know the interesting history of handbags and the most famous bag brands. The sophisticated exhibition “Carry Me. 100 Years of Handbags” looks at handbag fashion over the past hundred years.
A handbag can be a practical and everyday companion, but also a luxurious rarity and expensive status symbol. A woman’s handbag is never just a fashionable everyday accessory, but often a multi-purpose, and sometimes impractical work of art. The bag says a lot about the wearer’s style, lifestyle and social status, as well as character, identity and worldview.
The exhibition features nearly 50 original handbags from well-known fashion houses such as Hermés, Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel. Also on display are famous bag designs worn by Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy, Princess Diana and other fashion icons.
The exhibition is open until March 12.
