Fotografiska Tallinn introduces a flexible entrance fee

Fotografiska Tallinn, which showcases international photography exhibitions, has introduced flexible pricing for admission tickets. The ticket price depends on the time of the visit. Prices are different on weekdays and weekends. The cheapest admission ticket is on weekdays in the morning and late evening. The most expensive is on Saturdays at noon.

“We have been considering flexible pricing for a long time. We want to offer the opportunity to visit to as many people as possible at a price that suits them. This way, we can also distribute visitors more evenly on different days and at different times of the day. This is how we improve the visitor experience”, explains Margit Aasmäe, CEO of Fotografiska Tallinn.

“Although this kind of pricing is not common in museums, we are all used to the fact that this is done in cinemas, at sports events and with plane tickets,” Aasmäe continues.

Fotografiska is open daily from early morning to late evening. “This is also a conscious decision, the goal of which is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to visit the museum,” says Margit Aasmäe.

Tallinn’s Fotografiska currently has four exhibitions. The most recent of them is the exhibition of the American photo artist Frank Ockenfels 3, which presents his unusual photographic artworks of celebrities such as Nirvana, David Bowie, David Lynch, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.

Carla Gannis’ new media work “Emoij – Garden of Delights” is a digital age version of the triptych “The Garden of Earthly Delights” painted by painter Hieronymus Bosch more than 500 years ago.

Chinese-born photo artist Pixy Liao criticizes the stereotypical gender roles of modern society.

The fourth exhibition, “Between these folded walls, utopia” is a dreamlike, beautiful and thought-provoking look at the world of women who have had to change their place of residence as a result of forced migration. It was created by the artist duo Cooper & Gorfer.

Fotografiska Tallinn, which opened in 2019, was the first Fotografiska outside of Stockholm. Later, Fotografiska New York was opened, and in 2023 museums will be opened in Berlin, Miami and Shanghai.
