W.A.S.P. in Concert

Straight out of the 80s, W.A.S.P. was signed to Capitol Records for their self-titled debut album in 1984, which was later certified gold. They soon did their first world tour, playing with the likes of Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, and Black Sabbath. Now they are coming for an unforgettable concert in Tallinn’s beloved live music venue, Helitehas on 21 October.

Still fronted by the band’s original founder, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist Blackie Lawless, there have been numerous lineups over the decades. Performing in Tallinn will be Mike Duda on bass, Doug Blair on lead guitar, and Aquiles Priester on drums. Their current tour, “Album ONE Alive!”, marks the 40th anniversary of their debut release.

W.A.S.P. emerged from the same Los Angeles metal scene as Guns N’ Roses, and have since released 15 studio albums, selling well over 12 million records worldwide. Few bands over the years have maintained the raw intensity of their live performances. Metalheads in the audience will certainly know all the legendary anthems the band are sure to perform.

Very few bands have attained such a reputation for “shock rock”. In fact, their debut single, “Animal (F**k Like a Beast)” was omitted from the American release of their first album, for fear of being banned by major chain music stores. Numerous times their concerts have featured semi-nude models on stage changed to torture devices, and the lead singer has thrown raw meat into the audience, further cementing their wild, untamed, and unpredictable reputation.

Tickets are available here, and if you’re not quite sure if you want to attend, if you just need a little nudge, then this is it: the band will perform their entire debut album from start to finish for the first time in over 40 years!
