Tallinn Design Festival in Tallinn’s Brand New Krulli Quarter

Everyone is surrounded by design on a daily basis, but few actually understand this. The coffee mug you’re holding, the phone or laptop you’re reading this on, the office or home you’re in right now—they were all designed. Your clothing, the food you eat. You get the picture. The Tallinn Design Festival starting next week is the perfect opportunity for you to get an even more complete picture of how exactly the world we live in and interact with is…designed.

One week of symposia, lectures, workshops, fairs, exhibits, and more will take place in Tallinn’s newly revamped Krulli Quarter. The venue itself is a shining example of what exactly you can do with industrial ruins to restore them if you have good designs. Even the planning of the event itself. Topics covered over the course of the week will include interior and exterior design, fashion, architecture, jewelry and accessories, graphic design, textile design, and so much more. There will even be a workshop hosted by Terry McStea from the UK on how Legos can help you understand how to improve your own designs, solutions, and creativity.

There will of course be other activities throughout the week, including a bicycle tour of Tallinn, various tours of famous locations, a guided tour of landscape architecture, and naturally music and food. And yes, parents can take full advantage of the Tallinn Design Festival thanks to the on-site children’s area.

The full programme is available here.
