Summer Travel Tips in Estonia

 

Estonia’s summer is arguably one of the best in the Nordics. Festivals, fairs, concerts, restaurants, the list is endless, and it can be quite overwhelming to choose just the right balance of what to enjoy. Here are some of the main events through to the end of June.

 

16–18 May Türi Flower Market, Türi

The small town of Türi is known for its huge flower and garden market, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year. Over 700 vendors will be selling flowers, seedlings, garden products, crafts, and much more.

 

17–18 May. Kalamaja Days, Tallinn

Kalamaja is a creative neighbourhood known for its colourful wooden houses, right next to Tallinn’s Old Town. During the event, the streets of the district will be filled with music, stalls, workshops, exhibitions, and outdoor cafés.

 

30–31 May Italian Wine Festival, Haapsalu

The Haapsalu Wine Festival originated from the desire to showcase the wine culture of the twin city of Greve, Italy. The event will feature wines from local importers along with their Italian partners.

 

1–30 June Peony Festival, Saaremaa

The Saaremaa Peony Festival encompasses four hectares of peonies blooming at different times. This is a unique event in Europe. Nothing else like it featuring peonies is held anywhere else.

 

 

6–8 June Tallinn Old Town Days, Tallinn

Tallinn Old Town Days is a city festival that celebrates historical cultural heritage. The family-friendly event offers free music, theatre, art, and sports over the course of three days.

 

6–8 June Hanseatic Days, Viljandi

In the Middle Ages, Viljandi was part of the powerful Hanseatic League, and was located on an important trade route. During the Hanseatic Days, Viljandi celebrates its golden age with markets, performances, and a relaxed festive atmosphere.

 

6–7 June Grillfest, Pärnu

Grillfest is a summer food festival in Pärnu, where you can enjoy two days of delicious food and entertainment. Dozens of restaurants and cafés will be on site, offering visitors summer barbecue dishes.

 

13–14 June Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend, Tallinn

The beer festival is a beer enthusiast’s dream event in Tallinn. Over 400 different beers are available throughout the course of two days. The festival ticket also includes beer tasting.

 

28–29 June Narva City Days and City Run, Narva

The Narva City Days and City Run combine the joy of exercise, culture, and entertainment. The two-day festival attracts participants with its beautiful route, festive procession, markets, and diverse programme.
