Retrobest Festival Celebrates Ten Years in Otepää

Pühajärve Beach in Otepää is the setting for the tenth anniversary of the Retrobest Festival, on 26–27 June. This music and nostalgia festival will feature some of the biggest names of the 1980s and 1990s, both international stars and Estonian artists alike. Set against the beautiful nature of Otepää, this two-stage lakeside festival has something for everyone.

When you think of the 90s, arguably the most common musical artist mentioned is the Spice Girls. Melanie Chisholm, or Mel C of the Spice Girls, is the headliner of Retrobest this year. She is arguably considered by many fans to be the best singer of the popular supergroup that defined pop music for a whole generation.

Other headlining artists are Dieter Bohlen, the co-founder of Modern Talking, as well as Bo Martin Erik Erikson, better known by his stage name of E-Type, whose massive hit from 1998, “Angels Crying”, has become a classic club song throughout Europe. Eagle-Eye Cherry, Günther—known for catchy but corny hits such as “You Touch My Tra la la”, and “Ding Dong Song”—will also perform, as well as Basic Element, Safri Duo, and Da Hool. Estonian artists include Anne Veski, Smilers, Justament, 2 Quick Start, and Caater, celebrating their “30 Jubilee Show”.

Gates to the concert area open at 17:00 on both days, and the beach area opens at 13:00 on 27 June. Tickets are available here, and general information about parking, camping, the festival schedule, and more are available here. This is a family-friendly event, but sadly, pets are not allowed.
