René Eespere 70 concert today

A concert celebrating the 70th birthday of Estonian composer, René Eespere, will take place this evening, November 4, at the Estonian Concert Hall in Tallinn. The performance will include some of his most notable pieces including Flute concerto No. 2 and The Sixth Day.
René Eespere, born in Tallinn in December 1953, is an Estonian composer known for his pieces that combine pure joy with ritualistic power. His music exploring the secrets of existence and core values of life itself.
At the concert this evening, a number of his most notable pieces will be performed including his Flute concerto No. 2, which will be performed by Esther Dorado Suela, the principal flute of the Estonian National Opera.
Other pieces performed at the concert include Eespere’s “The Sixth Day”, a full orchestra piece that explores the essence of men, and “Concertatus celatus”, which will be performed by rising star cellist Marcel Johannes Kits, who has been described as one of the best of his generation.
