“Grease” the Musical Comes to Tallinn
Text Stewart Johnson
Photo Alexela Concert Hall

The musical “Grease”, one of the most iconic and widely recognised productions in pop culture, will be performed for three nights in Tallinn’s Alexela Concert Hall. Each performance, on 7, 8, and 9 April, will begin at 19:00 and last for approximately two and a half hours, with an intermission. It will be in the original English.
The story follows a “Greaser” named Danny Zuko and his summer romance with an Australian exchange student named Sandy Olssen, who fear they will never see one another again. They end up in the same high school, however, and the plot is mostly about life in 1958 America as they try to rekindle their romance.
“Grease” was originally a stage musical that debuted in 1971, and later became a critically acclaimed musical film in 1978 starring John Travolta as Danny, and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy. The performances in Tallinn are directed by Nigel West, who also directed “Chicago”, and choreographed by Matt Wesley.
Doors open at 18:00, and latecomers are not allowed, so be sure to get there well before the show starts at 19:00! Tickets and more information are available here.
