Fatboy Slim Concert in Tallinn

“Right about now, the funk soul brother check it out now!” These lyrics sampled by Fatboy Slim in his massive 1998 breakout hit were the dance lyrics of the year. In fact, they were only surpassed in popularity by “Straight from the top of my dome!” a mere year later by Finland’s very own Bomfunk MC’s. But on 21 November, in Tallinn’s popular venue known as Põhjala tehas, you can see Fatboy Slim in concert.
Norman Quentin Cook, better known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, doesn’t actually remember where he got his stage name from. He remarks that it’s simply a goofy oxymoron, and enjoys the confusion it used to cause when he adopted it back in 1995. Raised in Surrey, the UK, Fatboy Slim originally began his musical career in a punk band, but was later taught how to mix and DJ by none other than the famous Carl Cox.
Fatboy Slim has since gone on to release four studio albums, three live albums, and numerous compilations, mixes, and remix albums. He has earned two Brit Awards, and one Grammy. His most popular and famous songs include “Rockafella Skank”, “Praise You”, “Weapon of Choice”, “I See You Baby”, “Slash Dot Dash”, and many, many more.
His concert on 21 November in Põhjala tehas will be one of the few concerts in this region of Europe.
