A concert entitled Da pacem Domine will be heard on Thursday, April 25, in the Tallinn Methodist Church, where the Estonian National Male Choir will perform three works by contemporary composers Victoria Poleva, Andres Lemba, and Vladimir Agopov. Mezzo-soprano Tuuri Dede and the Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir will also sing in the concert.
Viktoria Pelova is a Ukrainian composer whose musical language draws strength from both Christian tradition and secular texts. Many musicians perform his works around the world.
Award-winning Vladimir Agopov is a Finnish-Ukrainian contemporary composer whose famous works include the cello concerto “Tres viae” (1984/1987), the concerto “Homage to Master” (2013) and “Motetus” for chamber choir, organ, harp, and percussion (2012).
Estonian composer Andres Lemba has composed for both chamber ensembles and choirs. The concert will feature Mass, which is part of the composition “Gloria”. It will be performed by the Estonian National Male Choir and organist Ene Salumäe.
The concert at the Methodist Church in Tallinn starts at 7 pm and tickets can be bought at Piletilevi.
