DragonForce and Around The Sun join the Tallinn Rock Festival lineup, and many are Finns

Tallinn Rock Festival has announced additional performers in their lineup: British power metal band DragonForce, and Estonian indie rock band Around The Sun will complete the festival’s lineup. The festival will take place on 27–28 June at the Unibet Arena and its outdoor areas.

Formed in 1999, DragonForce is known for its exceptionally fast, technically demanding guitar solos, performed by Herman Li and Sam Totman. The band rose to international fame with their song “Through the Fire and Flames”. DragonForce’s style combines the catchy choruses of 1980s classic rock, strong melodies, and inventive, epic lyrics. During their career, the band have released eight studio albums, as well as the long-awaited 2023 “Warp Speed Warrior” album, which combines the band’s traditional style with newer musical experiments. DragonForce is known not only for testing the boundaries of music, but also for their spectacular and energetic live performances.

Around The Sun, from Tallinn, is one of Estonia’s most interesting indie rock bands, having built their career independently without the support of a record label. The band combines guitar effects and electronic elements to create multidimensional soundscapes. The band started their career playing on the streets, and have since performed on stages with, among others, OneRepublic, and LP. Their latest EP, “Affection”, showcases the band’s fresh and evolving sound, which has been compared to the music of Arctic Monkeys.

Finnish artists strongly represented

This year, the festival will also feature several well-known Finnish artists, who bring strong Finnish expertise to the event. On Friday, metal music representatives Lost Society, and slightly heavier music veterans Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, will take to the stage. On Saturday, the internationally acclaimed gothic rock band The 69 Eyes, and long-standing rock legend Kotiteollisuus will perform. The strong presence of Finnish bands enriches the festival’s programme, and offers the audience a diverse overview of Finnish rock.

The full lineup for the rock festival can be found here.
