Carnegie Hall honors Arvo Pärt for 90th birthday

Carnegie Hall announced its 2025/2026 season on February 12, with a special focus on Estonian composer Arvo Pärt’s works, in celebration of his 90th birthday. The program, developed in close collaboration with the Arvo Pärt Centre, includes seven concerts dedicated to his music, two of which will feature only his compositions. Renowned performers such as violinists Gidon Kremer and Midori, the Estonian Festival Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will participate.

“Carnegie Hall approached us with the idea of a composer of the season as early as three years ago, and since then we have been actively involved in both the performers and programmes. We are particularly delighted to be working with who will once again perform in this prestigious hall, to an international audience,” said Anu Kivilo, CEO of the Arvo Pärt Centre.

On October 23 and 24, the Estonian Festival Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will perform Pärt’s works, including “Perpetuum mobile,” “Credo,” and “Adam’s Lament.”

“Arvo Pärt’s music has left a profound mark on both Estonia, Europe,  and the world’s cultural space. His sound has touched millions of listeners, and the dedication of this Carnegie Hall season is a tribute to his work, and timelessness of his creative genius,” said Madli-Liis Parts, Cultural Advisor in the USA.
