Asian Subculture Festival This Weekend in Tallinn

J-TSOON6 is an Asian and youth subcultures festival hosted this weekend in Tallinn’s Kultuurikatel and Energia Avastuskeskus. It is Estonia’s premiere expo for all things K-pop, anime, cosplay, manga, comics, and more. Gaming will also be a major theme.

Both venues, which are next to each other, will be linked and fully open to visitors of the expo. Events will take place on Saturday and Sunday, on three different levels. The selection of exhibitions is very large, and features many themes. Workshops on origami, demos and lectures on metal armour, how to make your own comic, the do’s and don’ts of bodypainting, and even a seminar on how to get over stage fright will be just some of the events visitors can enjoy.

Cosplay is probably the most widely celebrated activity at J-TSOON. Visitors can expect to see their favourite characters walking around, and there’s even a cosplay competition on the main stage. But that’s not the only competition…there will also be a K-pop cover competition, where performers and fans will re-enact the choreographies and routines they love to perform.

In addition to board games and video games, which of course have their own dedicated section at the expo, visitors can also test their knowledge in one of the quizzes, on various themes.

As for food and drink, visitors will be able to enjoy sushi naturally, as well as bubble tea, poke bowls, and Asian snacks and products at the multiple catering booths located throughout the expo.
