AHHAA Science Centre celebrates its 25th birthday this weekend with a range of events

The AHHAA Science Centre in Tartu will be celebrating its 25th birthday with events all this weekend (September 2-4). Today, 20 students of different backgrounds from all over Estonia have been invited to a youth think tank hosted by the president, Alar Karis. To mark the birthday weekend, AHHAA has also teamed up with 25 other museums and robotics schools to provide fun activities and workshops throughout the weekend.

This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the AHHAA Science Centre in Tartu. Throughout this weekend (September 2-4), there will be numerous exciting events for both young and old friends of AHHAA.

One of the main events will be a think tank hosted by the president, Alar Karis. About twenty students from different backgrounds from all over Estonia have been invited to exchange ideas with the president on September 2 on the topic “Career choices in the direction of science”.

According to AHHAA board member Pilvi Kolgi, the science centre dedicates its 25th birthday to visitors. “On this occasion, we will celebrate the birthday with a party lasting three days, to which we have invited 25 good cooperation partners from all over Estonia,”

PROTO Invention Factory, Police Museum, Skypark, Toy Museum, UT Observatory, Rakett69 Science Studios, Sports Museum, UT Nature Museum, KVARK Science Theater, Psychobus, various robotics schools and others will be performing at AHHAA with fun activities and workshops. Younger visitors can also have fun with Pipi and Lotte and frolic on the giant trampoline.

For the first time in our history, a one-day ticket is valid for three days at the science centre,” emphasized Kolk.

All tickets purchased on September 2 and 3 are valid until the evening of September 4.

“Every day AHHAA has a different party program and we are waiting for everyone to celebrate the beginning of the school year with their families,” added Pilvi Kolk.

On September 2, a photo exhibition of the brightest moments of the last 25 years will also be opened in the lobby of the science centre. The exhibition will remain open until next summer.

The AHHAA Science Centre was founded on September 1, 1997.
