Ironman Tallinn 2026

Everyone knows that the only athletic competition that’s more difficult than a marathon is an Ironman competition. Three races consisting of extra-long distances in running, cycling, and swimming separate the best of the best from all of the rest. It’s quite a test, and for audiences it’s more of a party, or a fest. Joking aside, all contestants must of course have incredible endurance, and the Ironman Tallinn 2026 event will prove it on 22–23 August.

This year’s event is split in two. On 22 August is the main event, the full Ironman competition, and 23 August is officially called Ironman Tallinn 70.3, the number representing the total number of miles, not kilometers, in all three races. This means it’s actually a half-Ironman event on the second day.

Both days start at Lake Raku just south of Tallinn, near Männiku, with the swimming portion. When contestants complete this first challenge, they will transition to the bicycling segment. The pro route will take the cyclists all the way to Keila-Joa, then loop around and finish on Paldiski mnt by Kopli Bay to complete the 179 km course. Then comes the second transition to the final event: the marathon. The 42 km distance of the marathon takes runners from Rocca al Mare to Stroomi Beach and back in four laps, eventually finishing in front of the Unibet Arena.

If you are participating, then Ironman Tallinn 2026 actually starts on Wednesday, 19 August, with various check-ins and course introductions over the following days. Training is also possible of course, and the children’s Ironkids race, which takes place on 20 August.

The full programme, course information, registration information, and more are available here.
