Tartu Punch is a new international music festival that will take place in Tartu’s Song Festival Grounds on 3–4 July. This festival is the newest addition to Estonia’s festival season, and will be a large-scale open-air music programme that you’ll definitely want to add to your summer cultural calendar.
The event will bring together a very diverse international line-up, combining alternative pop, indie, electronic music, soul, R&B, and more. Featuring globally recognised artists and prominent Estonian performers alike, Tartu Punch aims to create a broad and modern musical experience for all visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Musical acts from five countries, including Estonia, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Latvia, have so far been added to the programme, with more names being announced soon. These include acts such as HU?, Viagra Boys, Jack Garratt, Baxter Dury, EiK, Yin Yin, Night Tapes, Oscar Jerome, maria kallastu, Frankie Animal, Rick Feds, and Holy Motors.
While gates will open in the afternoon at 14:00, musical performances will last until midnight on both nights. However, like a punch bowl at a party, Tartu Punch concerts will spill over into various locations of Tartu itself, and there will also be afterparties. The full programme will be released at a later date once it’s been finalised.
Tickets and more information are available here. Kids’ passes, youth passes, and general two-day festival passes are available, but in limited quantities. While this will be a traditional music festival, camping is not allowed within Tartu’s city limits, so visitors will have to make their own accommodation plans.
