Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design celebrates its birthday

The Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (ETDM) will celebrate its birthday on July 18 with a series of special events and offers. To mark the occasion, entry tickets will be priced at just one euro, and guests will be treated to free Regatt ice cream, which holds significance for the museum.

The day’s festivities will begin at 12 noon with a workshop designed for both adults and children, where participants can learn the art of letterpress printing on textile bags. All necessary materials will be provided on-site, but prior registration is required. The participation fee for the workshop is 5 euros, and each attendee will leave with a personalised bag they created themselves.

At 3 pm, the museum will offer a special anniversary tour that will provide insights into the museum’s fascinating and extensive history, as well as its current exhibitions. No prior registration is needed for this tour.

At 6 pm, the ETDM Book Club will gather to discuss books about Aino and Alvar Aalto, sharing thoughts and insights on these influential figures in design and architecture.
