Tallinn Old Town Days begins today

This weekend, June 7-9, will see the popular Old Town Days take place in Tallinn. The festival celebrates the centuries-old cultural heritage and community of the city. For three days, visitors can enjoy music, art exhibitions, workshops, and more.

This year, Estonian artists include Elina Born, Kosmikud, Liisi Koikson, and Puuluup – familiar from this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – will perform during the festival. Puulup will also have the honour of opening Old Town Days with a concert in the Niguliste Museum park, opposite Harju Street this Friday at 8 pm.

“The festival in the historic heart of Tallinn will create a kind of creative sanctuary in the Old Town. The Old Town has inspired creative activities and creative people throughout history. However, the creative zone highlights the important cultural role of the Old Town, not only for the past but also for the different generations of today,” explained Sander Andla, director of the Central City district.

The three days of celebration will be filled with music, art, performances, and activities for the whole family. Families with children should head to Toompark, where a children’s area will be opened. Children can try painting, craft activities, enjoy shows, and play with each other.

More information about the festival can be found on the official Old Town Days website.
