Today, May 9, to mark Europe Day there will be a free concert in Tallinn’s Freedom Square. Top musicians including Tommy Cash, Nublu, Gameboy Tetris, and Bedwetters will all perform at the show.
Europe Day, which marks the end of the Second World War will be more special this year because Estonia is celebrating 20 years as a member of both the European Union and NATO.
The event in Freedom Square will start at 3 pm with the raising of European Union and NATO flags, and the opening of a themed area – Our Europe, Our NATO. Here you will find displays from various embassies, the Police and Border Guard Board, Defence League, and others, as well as the SLAVA Ukraina café where you can buy food and drinks.
The headline act of the Europe Day concert, which will begin at 6 pm, is the Estonian rap artist Tommy Cash. The other big Estonian acts on the bill are Nublu, Gameboy Tetris, and Bedwetters.
There will also be other Europe Day events all around Estonia, including in Narva, Tartu, Võru, and other cities. You can find more information about all of them on the official Europe Day website.
