On Sunday, the first cruise ship of the summer season docked at Tallinn’s Vanasadam harbour. In total, cruise ships are expected to dock in Tallinn a total of 94 times this summer, bringing 120,000 tourists to the city. These figures are only around one-fifth of the pre-pandemic levels.
Between now and the end of the cruise season in September, 39 ships from 24 different cruise companies are expected to dock in Tallinn. In total, these ships will stop in Tallinn on a total of 94 occasions, bringing an estimated 120,000 tourists to the city.
For the first time, 4 cruise ships are expected to dock in Tallinn at the same time. In addition, with cruise ships no longer visiting St.Petersburg as a result of Russia’s war with Ukraine, some vessels will now stay in Tallinn for 2 days.
These figures are considerably down on pre-pandemic levels. In 2018 alone, cruise ships docked in Tallinn 339 times, bringing more than 635,000 visitors to the city.
