Favourites for the more mature party crowd
The popular Chicago 1933, now located in the Rotermann district, offers live music and dining every night of the week. This nightclub is particularly favoured by the over-30s, thanks to its vibrant live music and diverse food and drink menu.
Café Amigo, situated in the basement of the Viru Hotel, has maintained its popularity over the decades. The dance floor of this iconic venue is a hotspot for partygoers of all ages. If you’re travelling solo, it could be the perfect place to meet new people. With local pop and rock stars performing on weekends, Café Amigo is a true international meeting place.
Just across the street from Café Amigo, on the Old Town side, is another well-known spot Venus Club. This nightclub’s dance floor is a favourite among the 30-50 age group. Throughout the night, performers energise the crowd. Venus Club plays a mix of new and classic chart hits, along with catchy dance tracks, keeping the party alive into the early hours.
Places where only attitude matters
Latin club Baila on Sauna Street is a place where night turns into morning in the blink of an eye. Known for its lively nightlife, Baila mixes Latin culture with a carnival-like atmosphere and rhythmic music. Baila is a relatively small nightclub where people naturally get up close and personal, so if you’re looking for personal space, it might not be the ideal spot for you.
Möku, an adult-friendly bar in Telliskivi, Kalamaja, attracts a lively student crowd. Originally from Tartu, this bar is packed on weekends, with a small downstairs stage occasionally open for dancing. The recently opened upstairs provides more seating. At the end of the night, the waiters might be inspired to climb on the bar and dance. The atmosphere is youthful, boisterous and warm.
A stone’s throw away in the Depoo area is the old railway carriage shed number 3, which now houses the raucous gig venue D3. On weekends, the nightclub’s large, high-ceilinged ballroom is filled mostly with local partygoers in their thirties who come to enjoy a varied and interesting programme of music. Incidentally, this is one of the favourite venues of the Estonian band 5MIINUST.
