Steve Vai and King Crimson Members in Concert: BEAT

Who could forget such iconic hits as “21st Century Schizoid Man” and “In the Court of the Crimson King”? These are perhaps only two of the greatest hits of King Crimson, and two of their past members will be joined by the legendary Steve Vai, and former Tool drummer Danny Carey for a live-only ensemble known as BEAT. The concert will take place in Tallinn’s Alexela Concert Hall on 19 July, and present modern interpretations of three of King Crimson’s albums from the 1980s.

Steve Vai is a three-time Grammy winner, and he’s also been nominated an astounding 15 times for his unique and intricate guitar-playing. Having himself released 11 solo albums, he started with the legendary Frank Zappa after having studied under Joe Satriani, and has recorded and toured with other extremely popular artists as David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Mary J. Blige, Spinal Tap, Motörhead, and many more. He has been ranked by Guitar World magazine as the tenth greatest guitarist of all time.

Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, both former King Crimson members, will be joining on stage for this concert. Belew is also widely known for his work with Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, and even Nine Inch Nails as a session and touring guitarist. Levin is known as a prolific session bassist, having worked with the likes of John Lennon, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, Lou Reed, Bowie, Tom Waits, Chuck Mangione, Paul Simon, and even Peter Frampton!

Danny Carey of Tool has been ranked the 26th greatest drummer of all time by none other than Rolling Stone magazine. His unique style of rhythm will add to BEAT, making this a must-see, once-in-a-lifetime concert.
