The Pärnu Plant Fair is one of the largest gardening events in Western Estonia. It’s held twice a year, once in spring and again in autumn, right in the central part of Pärnu, Estonia’s summer capital. This spring edition, held on 8–9 May in the Vallikraavi area by the river, marks the start of the gardening season, attracting hobby gardeners and professionals alike.
Everything related to gardening will be showcased at the Pärnu Plant Fair, and you’ll be able to purchase anything you need to kick off your summer gardening hobby at home. Seeds, plants, bulbs, trees, fertiliser, lawn ornaments, garden furniture, pots, gardening tools, even honey—it’s all there!
The scale of the Pärnu Plant Fair is one of the more significant aspects of this event. There will be more than a hundred points of sale from vendors and traders from all parts of Estonia, as well as neighbouring Latvia and Lithuania. This ensures good diversity of products for all soil types, yet that can all survive in the relatively similar climates of these countries. Plants will be on sale from larger nurseries as well as hobby growers.
This is also a great place to get advice on gardening and growing plants, and find new inspiration for wonderful and unique ideas for your garden. Designed to be very practical and comfortable for visitors, there will even be a “plant taxi” that is free for anyone who has made a larger purchase and needs help moving their goods to their car.
Entrance to the Pärnu Plant Fair is only €2, a modest sum that helps cover the costs of organising the event. Children get in for free. The fair will open at 9:00 on both days, and will last until 18:00 on Friday, and 15:00 on Saturday.
