The Pärnu Museum of New Art is opening a new textile art exhibition, “Kaunis aika”, or “Beautiful Time”, tomorrow, 9 November. It showcases the rich variety of Estonian textile art, its development, stylistic shifts, and the artists’ personal perspectives. The exhibition is open until 1 March 2026.
The selection includes tapestries and other woven works from the collections of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, as well as recent pieces from artists’ private collections. The exhibition is further complemented by a selection of textiles created by students of the Pallas University of Applied Sciences’ Textile Department.
The works on display reflect the colours of Estonia’s natural seasons, quiet contemplation, and timeless themes such as closeness, the passage of time, and the inner world. The woven textiles convey warmth, emotion, and the artists’ personal stories.
