Estonian Summer Music Festival Guide 2026

An old Estonian proverb says, “Don’t count your festivals before they hatch.” Not because a festival might be cancelled, but because there might be more festivals than you can possibly count in one summer basket. Summer 2026 is one such summer, where multiple festivals are scheduled for the same dates. The Baltic Guide would like to extend a friendly challenge to our wonderful readers to attend even a handful of the great music events coming up this summer, and this doesn’t even include the concerts of huge international superstars performing soon in Estonia!

Starting in calendrical order, and not in order of importance of course, is the Baltica Folklore Festival, happening for the 38th time. Each year it’s in a different country, and this year’s folk music festival is in Tallinn, Estonia, from 3–7 June.

Sõru Jazz will happen on 18–21 June on the island of Hiiumaa, featuring Sadu, and Mari Jürjens, one of Estonia’s many rising stars, in addition to many other performers.

This year’s main Midsummer party will be Pühajärve Jaanituli, or Midsummer Bonfire in Pühajärve, near Otepää in Southern Estonia, featuring several Estonian artists in a beach setting.

ÕlleSummer, one of Estonia’s most famous music festivals, will kick off on 1 July until 4 July in Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds. Dozens of local artists will perform, as well as headliner Katrina of Katrina and the Waves, famous for “Walking on Sunshine”.

Juu Jääb is back again, on the island of Muhu, from 2–5 July.

The third festival happening that same weekend is Hard Rock Laager, featuring international and local metal and hard rock bands on 3–4 July in Vana-Vigala, in Western Estonia.

Pärnu Beach Grind, the extremely popular music festival happening right by the beach in Estonia’s summer capital, will take place from 9–11 July. One of the headliners will be Estonia’s very own Tommy Cash, officially stylised as TOMM¥ €A$H.

KiKuMu festival is back for its second year. Featuring cinema, art, and music—kino, kunst, muusika, or KiKuMu—this festival got off to a great start last year! Located at Jäneda Manor in Lääne-Viru County from 9–12 July.

The next weekend is the world-famous I Land Sound festival, on the island of Saaremaa from 16–19 July, featuring dozens of artists from around the world and spanning many genres of music.

Again on Saaremaa starting at the same time as I Land Sound is the Saaremaa Opera Festival. Our summary of this exquisite music festival is here.

17–18 July will see Ostrova Festival, a family-oriented festival for all ages, Setomaa, in Southeastern Estonia.

Viljandi Folk is one of the biggest, most internationally renowned music festivals in Estonia. This year’s theme in Viljandi is “To each their own instrument”, and the festival takes place from 23–26 July.

If you’re more into jazz, and not folk music, then Narva-Jõesuu Jazz is for you, on 24–25 July. Calming jazz music by sandy beaches in a top Estonian resort town…what’s not to like?

Estonia’s “traveling festival”, Võnge, is back again, this year taking place in the village of Tõrva in Southern Estonia. Popular local and international bands, including experimental music—and lots of art!—this festival from 31 July–1 August is definitely one to consider.

The second of three festivals on the same weekend is August Blues, or Augustibluus, from 31 July to 2 August in Haapsalu, Estonia’s “spa town”. This festival features blues artists from the US, the UK, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, and more!

The third festival that weekend is Tallinn Rock Festival, 31 July–2 August, featuring The Scorpions, Godsmack, and Sepultura! This festival will take place in Tallinn’s Unibet Arena outdoor venue.

Viru Folk, one of the world’s largest up-and-coming folk festivals, will take place on 7–8 August in Käsmu, near Lahemaa National Park, in Lääne-Viru County.

This comprehensive list of 17 music festivals happening in Estonia in summer 2026 is not even complete! We will write about more festivals coming, though this list only includes music festivals. For example Nordic Kite Fest…stay on this page to find out more!
